Travel to Iceni

All pupils who live more than three miles by the most direct route from the Academy are entitled to travel on buses contracted by the Local Authority (except those living outside the catchment area). We currently have a large number of students travelling from outside the catchment area (specifically from the Downham Market area) and we have chartered an extra coach to cater for these pupils exclusively. As an Academy, we have heavily subsidised the cost of this coach so that parents pay as little as possible. If you are enquiring about an admission to Iceni Academy from this area and would like more info on this service, please speak to the Admissions Officer, Mrs Cutts.

At the beginning of each year bus passes will be issued to pupils, giving them access only to that bus which serves their village or area. Queries, comments or complaints should be made direct to:

Pupils should behave properly on the buses. The contractor is responsible for the safety of pupils they are transporting and they are likely to refuse to carry anyone they consider to have behaved in a way which could cause an accident. This includes any form of rowdiness and standing while the bus is in motion. In the rare event that any of our students are found to be behaving inappropriately when travelling to/from the Academy, they will be sanctioned as if the incident took place during the school day.
